Let's taste some amazing Thai-Chinese food and desserts such as noodle, seafood, rice with barbecued pork, roasted duck, custard bun and cold Thai desserts. These are just a few examples!

After filling your stomach with all the good food and desserts, it's time for us to end the trip.... unless you want to drink (at your own expense)!

Let's start our day of exploring Thai markets at Maeklong Railway Market, or the "Umbrella Market"! Here, the vendors sell their produce along the train tracks and actual trains run straight through the market many times every day. Here, you'll see how fast the vendors pull down their umbrellas and pack away their goods to make way for the arriving train! Amazing, isn't it!

Look! The train is arriving! This is a good time for you to take lots of photos/videos to take home! Believe it or not, this unusual scene is completely normal for the locals. Just check out how casual each vendor pack away their goods and sell them again as if nothing happened!

After checking out Maeklong Railway Market, we'll head to Amphawa Floating Market just minutes away, where we'll enjoy our local lunch. There are lots of shops here selling affordable Thai food where you can enjoy. Again, I can recommend you the best things to eat if you're not sure what to get! After that, let's walk around Amphawa Floating Market and observe the local way of life. You can also try more tasty snacks if you have a sweet tooth and shop for souvenirs if you want! We'll head back to Bangkok around 15.30 p.m.

Ayutthaya or Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya was the Thai capital for 417 years, and now is one of Thailand’s major attractions. Many ancient ruins and art works can be seen in the ancient city of Ayutthaya. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park, a vast stretch of historical site in the heart of Ayutthaya city, has been included in UNESCO’s list of world heritage since 13 December, 1991. It is convenient to access Ayutthaya due to good roads and a short distance from Bangkok.
Khon Kaen province is a centre of prosperity of the Northeast. It has a long history since prehistoric times. Millions of years ago, dinosaurs roamed this area as evidenced by the footprints and dinosaur fossils. It was also inhabited by prehistoric humans as evidenced by the excavation of bronze and metal tools at the Non Nok Tha Archaeological Site in Amphoe Phu Wiang.

Pathum Thani is a neighbouring province of Bangkok, only 46 km away from the north of the Capital. It was situated in the fertile Chao Phraya River basin with many canals and tangerine orchards, and originally named Sam Khok. In the Ayutthaya era, it was a settlement for Mon ago. In 1815 when King Rama II made a royal visit to the area, the inhabitants offered him large quantities of lotus flowers, giving rise to the present name, as “Pathum” means “lotus” and “Thani” means “city”.

Phetchaburi A province in Central Thailand, Phetchaburi is located 123 km. from Bangkok on the Gulf of Thailand. It is an old city with very long history, mentioned in the 1st stone inscription from the Sukhothai period.

The original settlement was a key frontier outpost of Ayutthaya when fighting the Burmese, located at Wiset Chai Chan on the banks of the Noi River. Nestled in a deep valley hemmed in by high mountain
ranges, Mae Hong Son has long been isolated from the
outside world. Virtually covered with mist throughout the
year, the name refers to the fact that this terrain is highly
suitable for the training of elephants.

It is in Thailand's lower northern region, somewhat off the route between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. It is approximately 200 km from Bangkok.

Udon Thani is a large province and serves as a centre of transportation and tourism in the Northeast of Thailand. It portrays a land of forest temples, a gateway to Laos and the Indochina countries, and possesses one of the world’s ancient civilisation sites. Also, it is blessed with natural tourist attractions as well as famous for Khit-styled handicraft.
Nong Bua Lam Phu is the country’s latest province.Established on December 1, 1993, it is the 76th province of Thailand
Kalasin is one of the most fertile provinces in the northeastern region. According to archaeological evidence, it points that the area was once inhabited by the Lawa tribe, whose civilization dates back to about 1,600 years ago. The historical evidence points out that the city was first established during the Rattanakosin period in 1793. Thao Somphamit and his troops escaped from the left bank of the Mekong River and settled on the bank of the Pao River, which was called ‘Ban Kaeng Samrong’. Then, he sent tribute to King Rama I the Great who later promoted Ban Kaeng Samrong as a city and renamed it ‘Kalasin’ or ‘Mueang Nam Dam’ (a black water town), which later became an important city. ‘Kala’ means ‘black’, ‘sin’ means ‘water’, so ‘Kalasin’ means ‘black water.’ The king also appointed Thao Somphamit as ‘Phraya Chaisunthon’ who became the first ruler of Kalasin. Kalasin covers a total area of 6,947 square kilometres. Topographically, the upper northern area of the province is the Phu Phan mountain range, with undulating hills and timber forests in the middle.
Mukdahan is the 73rd province of Thailand. Its history dates from the late Ayutthaya period, over 200 years ago. At first, on the left side of the Mekong River, there was a large community called Ban Luang Phon Sin located by Phrathat Ing Hang, presently in Savannakhet Province of Lao PDR. The community was ruled by Chao Chan Suriyawong. His son was Chao Kinnari. He later built a new town at the mouth of Huai Muk on the right bank of the Mekong River in 1767. The town was completed in 1770 and named “Mukdahan” (moonstone or pearl) according to a propitious sign occurring to him while the town was under construction. That is why the locals call the town “Mueang Muk”. During the reign of King Taksin the Great, Chao Kinnari was promoted as Phraya Chanthon Si Surat Upparacha Manthaturat to be the first
ruler of Mukdahan in 1778. At first, Mukdahan was part of ‘Monthon Udon’ or Udon Circle. In 1907, the Circle was dissolved to become a province and Mukdahan was then an Amphoe of Nakhon Phanom province. It was promoted
as Mukdahan province in 1982 as the country’s 73rd province and the 17th province of Isan. Actually, Mukdahan is a significant gateway to Indochinese countries. The local people of Mukdahan actually have had a long relationship with the people in Savannakhet province of Lao PDR. although they are apart by the 70 kms. long Mekong River. Mukdahan is home to 8 ethnic minorities; namely, Thai Isan, Phu Thai, Thai Kha, Kraso, Thai Kaloeng, Thai Yo, Thai Saek, and Thai Kula. It has abundant natural beauty. Mukdahan covers a total area of 4,339.830 sq. kms. It can be divided into 7 districts; namely, Amphoe Mueang Mukdahan, Amphoe Khamcha-i, Amphoe Don Tan, Amphoe Nikhom Kham Soi, Amphoe Dong Luang, Amphoe Wan Yai, and Amphoe Nong Sung.
Yala is the southernmost province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from northwest clockwise) Songkhla, Pattani, and Narathiwat. Yala is one of two landlocked provinces in southern Thailand, the other being Phatthalung. Its southern part borders Kedah and Perak of Malaysia.
Suphan Buri is in the Central Plains, the northwest of Bangkok. Suphan Buri was an important border town during the Ayutthaya period. This province is an ancient town rich in culture and historical temples. It locates 169 kilometres from Bangkok on the bank of the Tha Chin River, sometimes called the Suphan Buri River.
Sakon Nakhon is a Buddhist town with five Buddhist stupas. Its history can be dated back for three thousand years. Legend says that Nong Han town,
Trang used to be a port involved in foreign trade. It was
the first cit y where rubber was planted. Phraya
Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi brought rubber from
Malaysia and planted it here before anywhere else in
southern Thailand in 1899.
Nakhon Sawan has existed since before the
Sukhothai era. The name of this city appears in
Sukhothai’s stone inscription and it was called
“Phra Bang city” which was an important frontier
city for the wars. It later changed to Chon Tawan
city and finally to Nakhon Sawan, but normally it
was called “Pak Nam Pho city”.
Nakhon Phanom Province (นครพนม) is one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces (changwat) lies in upper northeastern Thailand also called Isan. Directly adjacent provinces are (from south clockwise): Mukdahan, Sakon Nakhon, and Bueng Kan. To the northeast it borders Khammouan of Laos.
Amnat Charoen, situated in the Northeast of Thailand, covers an area of approximately 3,161 square kilometres. The town was established in the reign of King Rama III of the Rattanakosin period. First, it was attached to Khemmarat city but later to Ubon Ratchathani province, from which it was separated and announced as the 75th province of the country on 1 December, 1993. In spite of being a small quiet town, Amnat Charoen features wonderful attractions including beautiful temples and nature as well as handicrafts by the local people. With one side adjacent to the Mekong River as a 38-kilometre-long border with the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Amphoe Chanuman, the province consists of seven districts; namely, Amphoe Mueang Amnat Charoen, Amphoe Senangkhanikhom, Amphoe Chanuman, Amphoe Pathum Ratchawongsa, Amphoe Phana, Amphoe Lue Amnat and Amphoe Hua Taphan.
Phitsanulok is a major province of the Lower North. It is located where the Central Plains begin to rise into the Northern region, and is 377 kilometres away from the north of Bangkok. Phitsanulok is a city that rich in historical, cultural and natural attractions. The town of Phitsanulok, situated on the banks of the Nan River, has been a major community since ancient Khmer times and enjoyed great prosperity during the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods. Unfortunately, most of the city was destroyed by a fire, and today it is built in the modern style.
Bueng Kan was once proposed for the establishment as a province in 1994 although it was not approved at that time.
Chanthaburi, known as “Mueang Chan”, is an abundant province with various factors contributing to the successful cultivation of fruit, especially durian, rambutan, mangosteen, and other economic crops; such as, pepper and rubber trees. A mountainous and heavily forested province. It was originally settled by the Hokkian Chinese, and their strong infl uence remains evident in the town
Narathiwat is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from west clockwise) Yala and Pattani. To the south it borders the Malaysian state of Kelantan and Perak. The southern railway line ends in this province, which is one of the nation's four provinces that border Malaysia.
Phetchabun is located in the lower northern part of Thailand surrounded by green forest. Its geography comprises beautiful scenery of both Khao Kho and the Nam Nao National Parks. Because of the fertility of the soil, Phetchabun has always been a productive area, and its name means “the land of crops and food”. The province has a long and prosperous history and rich tourism potential. Its climate is attractive due to the mountains and forests. Si Thep Historical Park which is a interesting historical attraction was granted the Award of Excellence for the Cultural Site of the 2000 Thailand Tourism Award.
